The Carolina Cruise
& Poker Run
September 4, 2021
9am - 5pm
Kannapolis - Concord, North Carolina
The 2021 Fall Carolina Cruise is free to everyone, no registration is needed to take part in the Cruise. (Please note, the event is a Cruise, not a Cruise-in.)
The 2021 Fall Carolina Cruise is a rolling cruise. It is similar to the world-famous Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, when 40,000+ vehicles drive north and south on Woodward Ave. In fact, in the 1960’s & 1970’s Highway 29 was the local cruising spot between Concord and Kannapolis.
Our Cruise route includes Highway 29 to Dale Earnhardt Blvd., with the Cannon Baller’s Stadium to the north and the Charlotte Motor Speedway to the south, with multiple locations for cruisers to visit.
The goal is for all Cruisers to enjoy both cruising on Hwy. 29 and Dale Earnhardt Blvd. stopping to visit the listed attractions and then move on to another location.
Carolina Poker Run
Supporting the Cabarrus Shriners Club
The Carolina Poker Run, held as part of The Carolina Cruise, offers the Cruisers an organized event to visit seven different locations around Cabarrus County.
Cruiser’s must register for this event online, with advance registration at $20.00 per player and $25.00 per player day of the event. The proceeds of the Poker Run will go to the Cabarrus Shriners Club in support of their work with the Shriners Children's Hospital. For more information go to www.cabarrusshrinersclub.org.
Each registered Cruiser will need to visit seven locations to pull a playing card, which will then be noted on the Poker Run form. The Cruisers will determine their own route and timeframe to visit these locations.
All Cruisers will be given the location information in advance of the event date, along with the location where to pick up their Poker Run form, which is used to list the cards pulled at each location. Cruisers MUST visit all locations before 4pm or their poker card will be ruled invalid.
After visiting all seven locations, Cruisers need to go the Mustang Owner’s Museum, by 4PM, to turn in their Poker Run form, after circling the five playing cards to be used to determine the Cruiser’s poker hand.
Cruisers may purchase up to four new playing cards, at $5.00 a piece at the Mustang Owner’s Museum, prior to turning in their Poker hand.
The top five Poker hands will receive the following cash prizes:
First Place $500.00
Second Place $200.00
Third Place $150.00
Fourth Place $100.00
Fifth Place $50.00
You must be present to win, as the cash prizes will be given out immediately.
